Today’s #feelgoodfriday post is about a topic that’s pretty big in my household: bagels.
My partner and I are big fans of the baked goods, and it’s led us to try quite a few across the Philadelphia and Jersey regions. It’s led to quite a few interesting discoveries. However, the best was a recommendation from a family member in the form of Bart’s Bagels.
The founders of Bart’s Bagels made regular pilgrimages to the Upper West Side of NYC and learned what truly captures the essence of a high-quality bagel. Now, they leverage time-tested techniques for bagel to create an experience that lasts for days after their purchase.
What also strikes me on reflection is that Bart’s offers a lesson in the power word of mouth has for food and beverage companies, because it’s a shop that would have never crossed my path otherwise. Every marketer knows that word of mouth is powerful, but given the limits of food and bev companies, it plays an outsized role in their ability to get new customers.
And, like a good bagel, it’s not something that can be rushed; it takes time, patience, and a willingness to invest if you want to create something that brings a smile to the faces of your patrons.
